Adding TTF fonts E-mail

Whilst working on the diagram for theĀ Jaycar XC4889 remote control entry, I found myself needing a specialised font to represent keypresses such as shift, control and alt. Once I had downloaded a suitable font, installing it was a snap.

Open Nautilus, enable Show Hidden Fonts under the View menu, then navigate to your home folder. You'll need to create a new folder here named ".fonts" (don't forget the leading dot) if it doesn't exist, which it won't by default as this folder is not automatically created at install. Now simply copy your TTF font into the .fonts folder and restart any application that uses TTF fonts, such as OpenOffice, for your new font to show up in the font menu.
