I recently decided that I needed to improve my security, so I installed and configured ecryptfs with the default Private folder in home. When locked, the Private folder contains two files, a shortcut to a script to unlock your data, and instructions. Starting the script will display a console window for you to enter your password. A friendly gui would be a more pleasant option. A quick check of Google shows that there is a project underway to develop a complete gui interface here, but since it's not complete, a simple password box to hide the guts of ecryptfs will suffice for now. Download the archive, extract it folder and copy the ecruptfs-pass folder it into a folder called "scripts" under home (create it if it doesn't exist). You'll also need to have installed ecryptfs and created a private folder. For ease of use, I also created a launcher on my panel to unlock the Private folder. blog comments powered by Disqus |
